Department of Neonatology was founded by Professor Shixiao Wu in 1980. Diagnosis and treatment center for neonates was founded in 2008 and the center was approved as national clinical key discipline. The center consists of a lot of units: the Term Unit, the Preterm Unit, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Neonatal Transport Network and Neonatal Specialized Outpatient Department. The center has 230 beds and ranks 1st in the west and top 4 in China. The center has established an integrated project for all kinds of neonatal diseases. There are 36 doctors, including 4 professors, 4 associate professors, and 165 nurses. We have won 13 provincial awards for Progress in Science, obtained 15 NSFC projects, 29 provincial projects, 1 domestic cooperative research project of National 863 Plan, and 2 other domestic cooperative research projects. We have published more than 40 monographs and obtained 10 national invention patients.
